About the speaker:
Michael Karras, Vice Principal, Capacity Building Special Education Resource Teacher, Prairie Spirit School Division, Saskatchewan
Michael grew up in Rocanville, a small, rural farming and mining community in Saskatchewan which helped shape his passion for family and community and the belief that by working together we can succeed. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Special Education Qualification from the University of Saskatchewan.
Michael has worked in Prairie Spirit School Division since 2000, first as a Special Education Resource Teacher, then a Capacity Building Special Education Resource Teacher, and currently as the Vice Principal of a school serving students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12.
He also volunteers his time supporting The Learning Disabilities Association of Saskatchewan, a non-profit organization that supports individuals and families that are affected by Learning Disabilities and ADD/ADHD. Michael has been a Board Member of the LDAS since 2002 and currently sits as the Past-President of the organization.
