The Call for Presenters for the 2026 Educators’ Institute is now open.

Below, you’ll find the information to prospective presenters for the submission process. This will help you understand the criteria, topics, and guidelines that shape our sessions.

Call for Presenters – Information

The 2026 Educators’ Institute, Unique Minds, Remarkable Potential will provide educators with interconnected tools and strategies to promote success and inclusion. This year, we will focus on creating adaptable, inclusive classrooms that respond to the unique strengths and needs of students with learning disabilities (LDs), equipping educators to support and empower students to reach their full potential.

The virtual conference will take place on August 18th & 19th. With the support of the Ministry of Education, the virtual conference will be free for all Ontario educators to attend. Sessions will be one hour in length, including time for Q&A.

Criteria & Guidelines for Submissions

In order for your proposal to receive a full review, the proposal(s) and the presenter(s) MUST meet the following criteria:

  • Align with the Ministry of Education’s PPMs and initiatives;
  • Meet the needs of Ontario educators;
  • Be non-commercial;
  • Provide delegates with practical takeaways;
  • Possess current research or practical experience in the area of teaching and learning of students with LDs;
  • Explicitly link current research to practice, and provide educators with practical assessment and instructional approaches that can be directly put to use in Ontario classrooms.

Submit under one or more priority themes

Building on the success and feedback from last year’s Educators’ Institute, we’re inviting sessions that inspire educators and offer practical, classroom-ready strategies, tools, and resources within one or more of the following 2026 themes.

  • Building Strong Foundations
  • Thinking and Learning Skills
  • Well-Being, Resilience, and Belonging
  • Equity, Identity, and Innovation

Logistics

Presentation proposals must be submitted by December 31st, 2025 by 11 PM. Anyone who submits a proposal will receive a letter of acceptance or non-acceptance from the LD@school team by no later than March 31st, 2026.
