About the video:

Intensity of Support – Tier 1 & 2 Intervention explores how educators in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board are strengthening early reading instruction through systematic, explicit teaching and tiered supports.

Featuring Jennifer McIlmoyle-Parsons (Principal) and Teresa Kingston (K–8 Literacy–Numeracy Consultant), this webinar shares practical strategies for:

  • Using early reading screeners to inform instruction
  • Shifting the focus from scores to skills
  • Differentiating effectively in whole-class settings
  • Providing targeted Tier 2 small-group interventions
  • Building consistency through collaboration among educators

This session highlights how evidence-informed approaches can improve outcomes for students with learning disabilities and other diverse learning profiles.
